Recruitment Software Solutions

by Declan 19. July 2010

Online recruiting software solutions have become increasingly popular in the recruitment scene.

All organisations share a common goal to hire quality, motivated and dedicated staff. Staff that fit into the ethos of the company. This can be a difficult and time consuming procedure. And naturally, companies will look to keep costs to a minimum. Marrying these requirements has become incredibly difficult with the traditional paper based model, and this has led to HR and Recruitment teams evaluating their processes.
Any organisation worth its salt needs to ask itself a few key questions:

  • What is the current procedure for job posting, receiving and evaluating applications, and communicating to applicants?
  • What are the costs incurred, both financially and in terms of time allocated to recruitment tasks?
  • What are the main issues that the company wants to address within its recruitment process?
  • Is there anything that can be improved upon? E.g. screening, ranking, reporting, automating etc?
  • What is the time-to-hire and cost-per-hire for the organisation?

Once these questions have been answered, there is only further question left:

  • Can a recruitment solutions software system assist the organisation to make the recruitment process more efficient and cost effective?

The simple answer is yes. Recruitment solution software is streamlining the hiring process for thousands of companies globally. Every organisation is different, and consequently, the requirements in each system can be very contrasting. The important thing for a prospective client to keep in mind is to differentiate between what you need and what you want. Once the requirements are established and implemented, the non-essential requirements can be addressed further down the line.

It has become very evident that online testing software that measures an individual based on certain selection criteria and prepares customized reports that show how prospective employees are likely to behave and perform are very much in need today. Reporting is a feature which has become invaluable to management at all levels. A manager or recruiter can select from a wish list of type of reports and decide what kind of a (customized) report he/she wants to view. For example, the interpersonal skills report of X who had taken the online test 6 months ago, or the reports for all IT applicants in the past year.
